Tee time in Rock Island starts Thursday

Soon after the QC area has enjoyed unseasonably warm weather, Rock Island’s Highland Springs and Saukie golf courses will open for the 2024 season on Thursday, March 7 at 10 a.m.

The Highland Springs Driving Range will also open with artificial mats.

Beginning Wednesday, March 6 at 11 a.m., tee times can be reserved up to seven days in advance online for Highland HERE or by calling 309-732-7265; or for Saukie HERE or 309-732-2277.

Saukie Golf Course is a beautiful, executive-length course that is beginner friendly but can challenge every golfer with its tough par threes, rolling deep ravines and doglegs, and majestic oak trees, according to a Monday release from the city of Rock Island. It is conveniently located in the heart of Rock Island at the intersection of 31st Avenue and 38th Street.

The 2024 season specials include: $28 for 18 rounds with a cart every day after 1 p.m and Wednesdays are two for $40 after 1 p.m. Kids 6-14 are free with a paid adult after 1 p.m. Highland Springs is a championship layout recognized as one of the best designs in the Quad Cities.

This course includes enough length to challenge all types of players and includes numerous lakes and ponds, rolling hills with deep ravines and thousands of mature trees.

Warm up for your round on the driving range and stop by the new clubhouse for a bite to eat before or after your round. Highland Springs is located in southwest Rock Island at 9500 35th Street West. Its 2024 season specials include: Mondays 2 for $50 after 1 p.m. and Fridays 2-for-1 driving range buckets after 3 p.m.
